К надкрыльям была прикреплена ниточка, которую перекинули через блок. Ко второму концу нити приклеили специальное ведерко, в которое по каплям наливали воду. Жуку удалось переместить массу в 1141 раз превышающую вес его тела. Для человека это аналогично большому грузовику с прицепом. Навозник побил рекорд, который оставался за жуком-носорогом, и опередил его практически на треть.
А недавно биологи обнаружили другое насекомое-рекордсмена. Выяснилось, что шмели являются самыми быстровидящими существами. Высочайшая скорость цветового распознавания позволяет им определять необходимые детали в процессе полета.
