Английские ученые придумали прибор, с помощью которого можно обучить пчел распознаванию запахов и даже использовать их в качестве внештатных "сапров".
Когда пчела реагирует на определенные запахи, она высовывает свой язык в предвкушении пищи. Пчелам предлагают сладкий сироп, когда из различных запахов находится необходимый. Таким образом, у плеч начинает формироваться нужный рефлекс. Обнаружить пчелинный язык можно с использованием инфракрасного излучения.
Способность пчел определять неуловимые запахи, в точности запах взрывчатых веществ, известна науке довольно давно. Но заниматься обучением пчел вручную достаточно затруднительно. А новое изобретение сделает возможным проводить колективное обучение будущих саперов.
