Немецкие антропологи сообщили о существовании неизвестного науке нового вида человека.
К такому выводу исследователи пришли после проведенного анализа ДНК кости, которая была обнаружена на Алтае в 2008 году. Этот человек проживал более сорока тысяч лет назад и находился в детском возрасте. Строение его молекул ДНК практически наполовину отличается от генетической информации, как неандертальца, так и современного человека. Новому человеку решено было присвоить название "Денисов", по одноименной пещере, в которой были обнаружены его останки.
По словам ученых, вопрос заключается в особой ветви эволюции человека, которая берет свое начало в Восточной Африке. Таким образом, установлено, что на Алтае существовало три человеческих вида - "Денисов", неандертальцы и Homo sapience.
