С 12 по 14 марта в финском городе Контиолахти пройдет седьмой по счету этап Кубка мира по биатлону. Состав сборной россиян, едущей в Финляндию, назвал Владимир Барнашов, главный тренер сборной России по биатлону. На Кубок отправятся все спортсмены, участвовавшие в соревнованиях по биатлону на Олимпиаде в Ванкувере, за исключением Ольги Медведцевой и Николая Круглова.
По словам Владимира Барнашова, отправление команды на турнир назначено на 9 марта. По окончании белой Олимпиады биатлонисты, за исключением Васильева, отправились домой, а Васильев, который не участвовал в олимпийских гонках, сейчас представляет страну на чемпионате Европы в Отепя (Эстония).
Финский этап в Контиолахти включает в себя пять гонок: смешанная эстафета состоится 12 марта, две спринтерские гонки – 13 марта и две гонки с преследованием – 14 марта.
