«Спорт-Экспресс», ссылаясь на заявление В. Третьяка, сообщает, что в штаб тренеров сборной России по хоккею будет введен новый сотрудник с должностью менеджера по Северной Америке.
По мнению Владислава Третьяка, мозговому центру нашей национальной команды необходимо усиление. Такой вывод сделан по итогам прошедшей Олимпиады. После проведенных Игр в Ванкувере стало ясно, что в ближайшие годы на всех крупных турнирах основными соперниками России станут заокеанские сборные команды. Это и привело к необходимости введения нового специалиста по работе в Северной Америке в штаб тренеров нашей страны. В его обязанности будет входить контакт с российскими хоккеистами и внимательное изучение работы соперников.
В. Третьяк считает, что пока не следует раскрывать имя будущего менеджера. У Президента ФХР имеется кандидат на эту должность, с которым В. Третьяк проведет переговоры в ближайшие дни. Конечно, увеличение тренерского штаба согласуют с нынешним главным тренером В. Быковым.
Итог Олимпиады в Ванкувере стал худшим результатом в истории российского хоккея. Сборная России уступила в четвертьфинале команде Канады со счетом 3:7.
