Двукратная чемпионка России в лыжном спорте Лилия Степанова решением Федерации лыжных гонок России была дисквалифицирована минимум на два года за то, что пыталась избежать прохождения обязательной процедуры допинг - контроля.
Это произошло в Сыктывкаре, где проходил чемпионат России, в конце марта. Лилия Степанова заняла первое место в спринте, но на прохождение допинг - контроля вместо себя отправила свою подругу Юлию Кострикову. Данный факт был выявлен, и Степанова все же сдала необходимые анализы, результаты которых пока неизвестны. Но уже точно ясно, что независимо от результатов допинг – теста, решение о дисквалификации не будет отозвано.
