Флаги Олимпиады и Паралимпиады доставлены в Сочи. В аэропорту знамена встретили и доставили сначала на вокзал города Сочи, а затем в центр. Торжественное шествие началось от Навагинской улицы и продолжилось до администрации города. На площади делегацию уже ждали Президент страны Дмитрий Медведев, а также многочисленные жители и гости города. Честь нести олимпийские флаги досталась олимпийским и паралимпийским чемпионам – Ивану Скобореву, Никите Крюкову, Иреку Зарипову, Сергею Шилову, Анне Бурмисторовой и другим знаменитым олимпийцам.
Олимпийские символы были подняты на флагштоках, а затем установлены в фойе здания администрации города.
