Президент УЕФА отметил, что Киев не занимается поставленными перед ним задачами, так и не была начата реконструкция стадиона в столице и, также, не началось строительство стадиона во Львове. Этот очень обеспокоило руководство УЕФА, и в начале апреля Платини посетил Украину для встречи с официальными лицами страны - президентом Виктором Януковичем и премьером. Николаем Азаровым.
