Результатом крупной аварии, происшедшей под Зеленоградом, стала гибель двух человек. ДТП случилось около половины восьмого утра, на сорок первом километре Ленинградского шоссе. Как предварительно пояснили в ГИБДД, водитель фуры совершал обгон и допустил столкновение с легковым автомобилем, после чего последовало столкновение с еще одним грузовиком и несколькими легковыми авто. Итог этой трагедии – двое погибших и восемь раненных.
Еще одна трагическая авария случилась на перекрестке улиц Шкулева и Люблинская. Водитель автомобиля «ВАЗ-2104», в котором ехал актер Юрий Степанов, остановил машину на светофоре, ожидая зеленого сигнала. Неожиданно сзади в «четверку» въехала иномарка. От сильного удара ВАЗ вынесло на встречную полосу, где в него на скорости врезался автомобиль «Лада - 12». Удар огромной силы пришелся на ту сторону, где на пассажирском сидении находился Юрий Степанов. Спустя несколько минут на место ДТП прибыли «Скорая помощь» и сотрудники ГИБДД, но актеру помочь уже не смогли – от полученных травм он скончался на месте.
