Как сообщил Сергей Наумов, занимающий пост министр образования, на финансирование детского отдыха и оздоровления Нижегородского региона выделено 822 миллиона рублей, что по сравнению с прошлым годом больше на 4%. По планам проведения оздоровления детей в 2010 году программа охватит 72% учащихся школ, что на 9% больше этого числа в 2009 году. Компания по реализации планов детского отдыха и оздоровления задействовала около 1700 лагерей дневного пребывания детей, 73 оздоровительных лагерей в загородной зоне и 5 санаториев для детей.
По сведениям, предоставленных министерством соцполитики, органы соцзащиты содержат на патронаже около 20900 детей, возрастом от 7 до 15 лет, при этом 12100 детей требуется оздоровление в первоочередном порядке. В планы на 2010 год входит проведение организованного отдыха и оздоровительных мероприятий для 11600 детей.
