Беря за основу данные проекта WikiLeaks, английская газета The Guardian составила карту, в которой отмечены все случаи убийств и смертей в ходе боевых действий коалиционных сил в Ираке.
Основой для карты был выбран сервис Google Maps. Нанесённые на территорию Ирака отметки, с помощью Google Maps, географически иллюстрируют отчёт вооружённых сил Соединённых Штатов об инцидентах с уничтожением боевиков, гибели местного населения и военных. При активации каждой из отметок, пользователь получает информацию о произошедшем событии из досье.
WikiLeaks опубликовало «иракское досье» (около 400 тысяч документов) 22 октября, но многие издания, включая и The Guardian, получили к нему доступ ещё до публикации.
Согласно досье, в 2004-2009 годах в Ираке погибли 109 тыс. человек, из них – 66 тыс. мирных жителей, 24 тыс. «врагов», 15 тыс. иракских военных, 3771 солдат коалиционных сил.
Публикация «иракского досье» вызвала резкое осуждение со стороны Пентагона, поскольку, по мнению американских военных, публикация может нанести вред и военным коалиционным силам, и сотрудничающим с ними иракцам. Следует, однако, заметить, что в опубликованных материалах WikiLeaks не содержатся имена и другие личные данные.
