Как всем известно, в Великий четверг вспоминается Тайная вечеря. В этом году 1 апреля патриарх всея Руси Кирилл в храме Христа Спасителя провел литургию и чин омовения ног двенадцати священнослужителям, которые олицетворяли апостолов. Данный чин был возрожден только в прошлом году и совершался во второй раз. Причем большая их часть совсем молодые недавно пришедшие священники.
Данный ритуал показывает служение народу и глубокое смирение. Впервые его стали производить в Иерусалиме в VI-VII вв. Его совершают во многих православных церквях, и даже в некоторых Римско-католических и Армянской апостольских церквях.
